Child Protection

Whitman Academy is a member of the Child Safety and Protection Network (CSPN), a worldwide network of Christian schools, agencies, and other faith-based organizations that endeavor to create a safe and nurturing environment for all students.

Whitman Academy believes that all students should be protected from any form of abuse or neglect. We believe that students have a fundamental right to be safe and that the staff, volunteers, parents/caregivers must act in the best interest of our students. Staff and volunteers are required to attend annual child protection training.

All staff and volunteers at Whitman Academy are required to report suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect whenever that individual has reasonable cause to believe a student is at risk of or has suffered abuse or neglect. Reporting and follow-up of all suspected incidents of child abuse and/or neglect will follow clear and specific procedures that follow the CSPN’s Best Practice Standard.
